From Noodles to B2B: AI is Your New Buying Guide

Liza Adams · December 26, 2024 ·

Published on 2024-12-26 15:23

Ever feel overwhelmed by too many choices? That was me this week, staring at a wall of Asian noodles, trying to figure out which one to buy for pancit bihon (that famous Filipino noodle dish that many love).

Instead of texting my Filipino family or googling, I turned to my AI assistant. In seconds, it became my personal shopping guide: pointing me to the right noodles, explaining which ones to avoid, and helping me check off my recipe list.

This experience got me thinking about a massive shift in buying behavior:

  1. We’re moving from “asking around” to “asking AI” for specific advice

  2. The help is getting smarter. AI told me why some similar-looking noodles wouldn’t work

  3. We get the whole package: from “buy this one” to “here’s how to cook it”

For those of us in B2B, pay attention to how our own consumer buying behaviors are changing.

They’re early signals of what’s coming to enterprise software and professional services, where buyers are finding their own AI shopping guides.

What does this mean for 2025? Get ready for:

  • Making product information speak to both AI and people

  • Reimagining sales conversations with buyers who are AI educated

  • Building trust through data-backed claims that AI can verify

But that’s a chat for January. Right now, I’ve got some pancit to cook for 25 people!

No-Code AI Game Show for Your Holiday Party

Liza Adams · December 22, 2024 ·

Published on 2024-12-22 14:06

Turn your holiday gathering into an AI-powered game show! I built a Christmas Emoji Jeopardy game for our upcoming family party with 25 people, ages 9 to 89.

Five festive categories: Christmas Songs, Holiday Movies, Holiday Foods, Christmas Decorations, and Holiday Traditions.

Here’s how it works:

  • Decode emoji clues like 👵🦌💥🎅❄️ (What is Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer?)

  • Track chosen questions

  • Play with 2-4 teams using names like Sleigh My Name or What the Elf?!

  • Use phone ringtones as buzzers

  • Score based on dollar values and wagers

  • End with Final Jeopardy in Christmas Controversy

  • Win fabulous prizes

Check out the short demo video below!

Want to play? Full game link in comments (https://lnkd.in/g5mFGsBE). Project it on a big screen, add some Jeopardy music, and you’re set.

Beyond holiday fun, this interactive format is great for business. Think SKO training, customer discovery workshops, competitive intel sessions, or new hire onboarding.

Built this in two hours, no coding needed (Thank goodness! I don’t code!). I started with some ideas and AI helped brainstorm more. Together we brought it to life quickly.

The game format keeps everyone engaged. Perfect for 10-30 players.

Playing it at your holiday gathering? Let me know how it goes! In our Filipino American family, games and karaoke are holiday must-haves, so I’m excited to test this out.

Also open to suggestions for upgrades before our party. Enjoy the holidays with your loved ones!

Grace & AI: Enhancing Moments That Matter

Liza Adams · December 20, 2024 ·

Published on 2024-12-20 14:07

No perfect family holiday photo this year and I’m giving myself grace for that. Here are the Adams reindeer pups, Penny and Isla, spreading some holiday cheer instead. (I know, they hate those antlers. 😂)

As I reflect this Christmas season, I’m reminded that grace is at the heart of my faith and what this time of year means to me.

I’ve been thinking about what we do with the time AI saves us. Right now, there’s still so much to learn that it feels like we’re adding to our plates rather than clearing them. And that’s okay. We all need to give ourselves grace as we go through this journey.

AI has become part of our family moments:

  • helping my mom who has dementia remember when I visited her in the Philippines,

  • picking out a new game appropriate for teens at Target for game night with our neighbors (here’s how: https://lnkd.in/gibdDY_S), and

  • the kids getting creeped out and laughing using ChatGPT’s advanced voice with video.

These personal experiments inspire how I use AI at work, and vice versa.

When used thoughtfully, AI isn’t just about saving time, it’s about enhancing the moments that matter.

Looking back, my heart is full seeing how I’ve helped others grow and succeed in their AI journey this year. It brings me such joy to see that impact ripple outward. And none of it would have been possible without those who supported and taught me along the way.

Time to rest, reflect, and celebrate the true meaning of Christmas while enjoying the small moments that make life truly special.

From our family to yours, wishing you and your loved ones health, peace, joy, and the best of the holiday season and the year to come!

Content Strategy: Become the Go-To Source for AI Search

Liza Adams · December 19, 2024 ·

Published on 2024-12-19 14:00

By 2028, Gartner predicts a 50% drop in web traffic due to AI search. The future isn’t about competing with AI. It’s about creating content so valuable that AI has to serve it up.

In my latest newsletter, I share how leading teams are tackling this head on:

  • Content so relevant that AI search tools want to cite you as their source

  • Original research that fills critical data gaps (most “common knowledge” lacks real data)

  • Counter-narratives that drive genuine thought leadership

  • Stories that transform perspectives (like what mountain gorillas taught me about purpose)

Plus:

  • Why less traffic signals higher-quality engagement

  • How to use AI to uncover stories others miss

  • A custom GPT demo for finding hidden content angles

  • Practical steps to become the go-to reference in AI search

Special thanks to Chris Andrew, Andy Crestodina, and Karrie Sanderson for sharing their invaluable insights on becoming the source both AI and humans trust.

(Audio version available for podcast lovers! Link to an AI podcast is in the newsletter and in the comments below.)

Your thoughts? What other content strategies are you using to become more relevant to both humans and AI?

Wishing you and your loved ones a wonderful holiday season! Hope you get some well-deserved rest and come back inspired for 2025.
