Build AI Teammates: A PMM’s Strategic Playbook

Liza Adams · March 10, 2025 ·

AI is elevating the strategic impact of product marketers. But the teams seeing real results aren’t just using tools, they’re creating AI teammates that understand their business and amplify their work: from sales enablement to go-to-market strategy.

I’m speaking at the Product Marketing Alliance’s Product Marketing Summit in Denver (April 1-2, 2025) and would love to see you there.

My session called “A PMM’s real-life strategic playbook: Building and managing AI teammates” on April 1 will cover:

  • ► Step-by-step prompts and workflows for high-impact PMM use cases

  • ► Ways to evolve from basic AI user to confident builder of custom GPTs

  • ► Real examples of AI improving PMM work and cross-functional collaboration

  • ► Ready-to-use templates and tracking systems for PMM use cases and AI tools

This is practical. One product marketing team transformed their work with these methods, and you can implement them immediately.

See the agenda and register using the link in comments. Looking forward to connecting with you and your PMM team in my hometown at Mile High!

Get Kids Excited About AI: Just Add Games!

Liza Adams · March 9, 2025 ·

Figured out how to get my kids to learn more about AI: Games!

Like many parents, I worry about preparing my kids for a future with AI and showing them how to use it responsibly.

But teens don’t want mom as their tech teacher, and they’ve got a million other things competing for their attention.

Our family loves games. My hubby and 13-year-old are avid gamers, and my high school senior is super competitive (hates losing at anything 😂).

So, I leaned into games by building simple AI games together.

Yesterday, we played some games we built using AI with this ridiculously simple prompt:

"Please create an interactive [name of game]. Make it visually appealing and do your best to make it look like the real game."

That’s it! No coding. No tech skills. Just type and play. We created:

  • Connect 4 – worked first try with just the basic prompt!

  • Black Jack – added “please make it like a table in Vegas” (hubby’s favorite!)

  • Pictionary – the kids’ favorite! We were drawing with our mouse in minutes. See video clip below.

  • Wheel of Fortune – took a few tries to get the wheel we liked

  • Battleship – had to teach AI some strategy because it kept losing making random moves!

We’re on a learning journey, but the kids are now curious about how these games work. They’re seeing how easy it is to build and personalize games like changing rules, format, colors, interactions, etc.

It’s just a small step toward AI literacy, but it’s already working better than my lectures ever did! Even basic familiarity with AI will help them.

When we understand AI, we can teach our kids AI.

Why not give it a shot with your kids? Start by playing the games. The links to the games are in the comments, https://lnkd.in/gjFCQyKX. They’re free to play, no subscription needed!

I’d love to hear your experiences too! If you try creating any AI games, please share your ideas or favorite games below. 😊

Don’t Shrink: Reclaim Your Voice & Power in Tech

Liza Adams · March 7, 2025 ·

“They silenced me.”

“They didn’t value my work.”

“They ignored my contributions.”

I’ve heard these phrases throughout my 20+ years in B2B tech. Sometimes from colleagues. Sometimes in my own head.

I’m thankful that while these moments stand out, they don’t define my career. Most of my journey has been with supportive teams and inspiring leaders who helped me grow.

But those few key moments taught me the most.

The pressure cooker of tech doesn’t allow us to be our best selves. I wasn’t my best self either. I changed to fit in until I no longer recognized myself. I spoke less, took up less space, and buried parts of myself that made others uncomfortable.

I’ve sat in exec meetings where my ideas were overlooked until someone else repeated them.

I’ve watched diverse views treated as interesting but not useful.

I’ve felt the sting when speaking up was seen as “rocking the boat.”

The real shift came when I stopped trying to fit in where I had to shrink and started finding places where I could grow.

“I allowed them to silence me” → “I have the power to speak up.”

“I allowed my work to go unnoticed” → “I have the power to show my value.”

“I allowed myself to fit in” → “I have the power to find where I truly belong.”

This isn’t about blame. It’s about seeing when we give away our power and choosing differently.

My career has given me chances to make an impact and lift others in ways I never imagined. For that, I’m truly grateful.

The best lesson wasn’t how to push against barriers. It was finding the tables where my voice was welcomed rather than just tolerated.

In healthier situations, I’ve seen how good people can be. The same colleagues who seemed tough in high-stress settings often show their best selves when the context changes.

As I work in AI today, I see how important diverse voices are to ensure AI work for everyone, not just a select few. We can’t build tech for all without input from all.

This year’s International Women’s Day theme is “Accelerate Action” because at this rate, full gender parity won’t arrive until 2158.

Progress isn’t certain. In some areas, we’re moving backward. But that’s exactly why owning our power matters now more than ever.

To every woman facing similar challenges:

  • Your unique voice isn’t something to hide. It’s your greatest asset.

  • Your ideas matter not because others say so, but because you bring them forward.

  • Your strength grows each time you choose to be fully yourself.

What small act of courage will you take today?
