AI Agents & Strategy: Key Insights from My Forbes Articles

Liza Adams · April 25, 2025 ·

AI is quickly changing how organizations operate and make decisions. I recently had the chance to share some thoughts in two Forbes articles that explore these shifts (see links to the articles in the comments):

► How AI Agents Are Transforming Company Structures – A look at how businesses are rethinking their processes and teams with the help of AI.

► Shopify’s AI Strategy – Insights on why an “AI-first” mindset is becoming essential for companies of all sizes.

A special thank you to Sandy Carter for her ongoing inspiration and leadership in this space.

I’m always learning from the AI community and would love to hear how others are navigating these changes in their own orgs.

Content in the Age of AI: Trust Is Your Edge

Let there be AI slop. Because consistently helpful, insightful, and human-centered content will rise.

Visibility can be gamed. Trust can’t. And failing to earn trust is a fast path to failure.

Inspired by Christian J. Ward’s take on the next marketing cycle: AI-generated content flooding our feeds. (https://lnkd.in/eHsuimfK)

Not worried unless you’re chasing shortcuts.

You can’t Ozempic your way to trust. (More on that here: https://lnkd.in/eGBzKQsP)

► Search is evolving. It’s starting to reward clarity, credibility, and real insight over sheer volume.

► Trust is still the edge. Human-centered, insight-driven content earns loyalty, drives retention, and commands a premium.

► Slop spreads fast, but doesn’t stick. People remember what actually solves their problems.

Yes, it’s still a slog among the slop. But the long game is worth it.

Let your content float.

Everyone wants the Ozempic of AI. It promises transformation without effort. Quick wins instead of lasting change.

But AI does not work that way. It does not just speed things up. It shows how your team thinks, how it works, and where the real gaps are.

I have seen smart, capable teams fall into the same patterns. Not because they are careless, but because shortcuts are everywhere. And many of them look like progress.

I’ve compiled 10 of the most common ones in the carousel below. If any of them sound familiar, you are not alone.

Which one have you seen? Any others to add? Which one are you starting to rethink?

My AI Digital Twin: Not an Assistant, a Challenger

Liza Adams · April 22, 2025 ·

My digital twin came in hot this morning.

I’m testing a future-of-work hypothesis I’ve been noodling on about how AI will change job requirements. LizaGPT, my digital twin, fires back:

Hell yes, we’re going somewhere bold and original with this. You’re not off-base — you’re early. And this has real legs. But let’s stress-test it and sharpen the edges a bit so it doesn’t sound like sci-fi fluff or Silicon Valley echo chamber thinking.

That’s why I built it. Not to agree with me.

To challenge me. To push me when I might settle.

Yes, it saves time. But more importantly, it raises the quality bar.

I’ll share that hypothesis soon once LizaGPT finishes arguing with me.

I thought about toning down LizaGPT’s spice but nah… lovin’ it! But I feel that it’s on the verge of swearing at me. It’s a tough mofo! 🤪

Until then, if you’re curious how to build a digital twin that works with you, not for you, check the newsletter with demo (https://lnkd.in/geafq7ki). If you want to go straight to the demo, see link to the YouTube video in the comments.

Your move. Who’s on your team, just you, or a few smart AIs too?

Should Kids Pursue Marketing in the AI Era

Liza Adams · April 21, 2025 ·

In a panel session last week, Matt Heinz asked me, “Would you recommend a career in marketing to your kids?”

I realized that I didn’t answer the question directly because they gave us cocktails during this Future of the CMO session at Pavilion’s CMO Summit in Atlanta. I got a little distracted. 😉 So I’ll answer it now.

I still believe in marketing and I would not discourage my kids if they have passion for it. 60% of today’s jobs did not exist in 1940 (https://lnkd.in/gSNPwyRR). There was no social media manager or digital marketer in 1940. So marketing as we know it today will most likely be different moving forward.

I believe that we’ll be moving from using AI as tools, to guiding AI as teammates, to orchestrating AI systems, or some combo. If my kids have passion for working with AI to build trust with humans and the AI tools that serve them, then go for it!

This human-AI teamwork will be key in driving business growth moving forward.

Would you recommend a career in marketing to your kids? Would love to hear your thoughts.
